My Story

Hi, I'm Heather, the founder of Coastal Compass Newfoundland.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, I've always believed there's something truly special about this province. From rugged coastlines and breathtaking hiking trails to colourful fishing communities, incredible local restaurants, and scenic drives around every corner, Newfoundland has a way of making people feel at home. Growing up here gave me the opportunity to experience so many places that visitors often miss, and I wanted to share those hidden gems with others.

I started Coastal Compass Newfoundland because I saw how overwhelming planning a trip here could be. With so much to see across the island, it can be difficult to know where to start or how to make the most of your time. Too often, travellers stick to the well-known attractions and unknowingly drive past some of the province's most memorable experiences. I wanted to change that by creating thoughtfully planned itineraries that combine the must-see destinations with the local favourites that make Newfoundland truly unforgettable.

Every itinerary I create is built from local knowledge, personal experience, and a genuine love for this province. I spend time researching the best routes, restaurants, accommodations, hiking trails, viewpoints, attractions, and seasonal experiences to ensure each guide is practical, easy to follow, and filled with recommendations you can trust. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway, a week-long vacation, or a month-long road trip, my goal is to take the stress out of planning so you can focus on enjoying every moment.

As a small business owner, it means so much to have the opportunity to share my home with visitors from around the world while supporting local businesses and communities across Newfoundland.
